The Arlington Police Department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide that resulted in the deaths of a 37-year-old man and his suspected killer, a 37-year-old woman.
On Friday, July 11, 2025, at approximately 10:17 a.m., officers responded to a hair salon in the 7800 block of S. Cooper Street to investigate a reported shooting.
Multiple witnesses reported that a woman entered the business and shot the 37-year-old man, who was a customer, multiple times. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As officers were pulling up to the salon, they saw the woman attempting to exit the building. When she noticed the officers, she went back inside the business and shot herself. She was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
A motive for the shooting remains unclear, however, through the course of their investigation, detectives learned the man and woman were previously in a romantic relationship.
There were several other people inside the business at the time of the shooting. There were no additional reports of any injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the names of the deceased.
