Summer is heating up and we’re ready to celebrate with fun activities throughout July! Mark your calendar for these upcoming events with Arlington Parks and Recreation.
Stars & Scoops (50+ yrs) – Thursday, July 3
Seniors are invited to join us in the ACTIV Post Oak Hall for a festive ice cream social celebrating the 4th of July! From 1-2 PM, enjoy delicious ice cream, great company, and a fun celebration of independence for only $2 per person.

Light Up Arlington – Thursday, July 3
Downtown Arlington lights up the night on Thursday, July 3 with Light Up Arlington, a dazzling kickoff to the Fourth of July weekend! This free, family-friendly event runs from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with fireworks scheduled to start at 9:50 p.m. This year's celebration includes some of the top musical acts in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington region, vendors, food trucks, and plenty of kid-friendly fun.

Splash Tales at California Lane Park – Friday, July 11
Dive into a world of imagination and adventure at Splash Tales! This event will be held at the California Lane Park splash pad from 10-11 AM. Kids can come enjoy interactive stories, water-themed crafts, and splashing good fun at this free summer event!

Sensory Swim – Saturday, July 26
Head out to Howard Moore Play Pool from 9-11 AM for a supervised sensory-friendly swim! Children with special needs, their caregivers, and families are invited. Each individual needs to register for this all-ages event, which is limited to 40 attendees. Registration is $3 per person.

Baha Bark Fest – Saturday, July 26
Join us at East Library and Recreation Center as we celebrate 25 years of the iconic hit Who Let the Dogs Out by the Baha Men! This free event from 12-3 PM will be packed with tail-wagging fun, including dog-friendly snacks, exciting pet-and-parent competitions, and heartwarming adoption opportunities. Whether you're a longtime fan of the song or just looking for a great day out with your furry friend, this all-ages event is sure to be a howling good time! Come ready to bark, play, and maybe even find a new four-legged friend to take home!
