The Housing Authority of the City of Arlington (AHA) will accept applications from persons interested in participating in its Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program only during the Waiting List opening, which begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025, and ends at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025. 

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a rental housing assistance program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program assists very low-income persons, families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities to reside in safe, decent, rental housing they can afford.

Housing Choice Voucher Program Wait List

To ensure the application process is fair and available to all, applications received will be randomly assigned a position on the waiting list. Selecting an application from the waiting list is not based on date and time of application.

Important Information

  • Apply Online: Applications will only be accepted online. It is not necessary to come to the Housing office to apply.  You can do so from any internet connected device anywhere. 
  • Library Computer Access: Applicants that need access to a computer may visit a branch of the Arlington Public Library. List of library locations. 
  • Email Account Needed: Applicants must have an active email account to apply. A free email account can be obtained through a provider of your choice.
  • Arlington Residency Requirement: This application is only for households who either live or work in Arlington. If you do not live or work in Arlington, you need not apply.
  • Reapplying: Applications will be retained until the next time the wait list is open. All HCV applications will have been dropped from the wait list and you must re-apply during the following wait list opening to be considered for assistance.

  • Persons with disabilities needing assistance with completing an application may contact the AHA during the Open Enrollment period by calling 817-276-6722.
  • Persons needing assistance with completing an application may contact the AHA during the Open Enrollment period by coming in the office or calling 817-276-6722. 
  • For those with Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a phone line to an interpreter can also be provided at the office.
