Commissioner Alisa Simmons of Tarrant County Precinct 2 invites the public to participate in her inaugural Free Community Shred Day on Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., an initiative aimed at helping residents securely dispose of personal documents while promoting environmentally responsible practices.

"We're holding these activities at two locations simultaneously to make them accessible to families and small businesses across Tarrant County," Precinct 2 Commissioner Alisa Simmons said.

Shredding services will be available at two convenient locations:

Tarrant County Sub Courthouse
700 E. Abram Street
Arlington, TX 76010

Tarrant County Sub Courthouse
1100 E. Broad Street
Mansfield, TX 76063

Everyone may bring up to two boxes of paper documents for free, on-site shredding. No electronics will be accepted.

Items accepted include:

  • Canceled checks
  • Medical records
  • Credit card offers
  • Past utility bills
  • Old tax returns
  • Junk mail
