Auto-Pedestrian Fatality - Report #2025-01990093

By Arlington Police Department
The Arlington Police Department is investigating an early morning auto-pedestrian collision that resulted in the death of an adult male.
On July 18, 2025, at approximately 5:07 a.m., officers responded to the southbound lanes of State Highway 360 near I-30 after the driver of a Ford Ranger reported hitting something, possibly a person, that was in the roadway. When they arrived on scene, the officers located the remains of an adult male in the main lanes of traffic. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators believe that after the man was initially struck, multiple vehicles ran over him. The driver of the Ranger stopped and was cooperative with the investigation, as were other drivers that believed they may have hit the pedestrian. No criminal charges are expected to be filed in connection to this incident.
At this time, it’s unclear why the man was in the highway lanes.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased once he is positively identified.
A portion of the highway was closed for approximately five-and-a-half hours Friday morning while crews worked to clear the wreck. All lanes have since reopened.
The Arlington Police Department would like to remind the public that pedestrians should NEVER enter highway lanes. Due to the speeds vehicles are traveling and the distance they require to brake, attempting to cross a highway is extremely dangerous and can lead to a catastrophic collision. Pedestrians needing to get from one side of a highway to the other should use designated crossings and sidewalks along overpasses and underpasses.
