The Arlington Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the death of 19-year-old Zacchaeus Selby-Mukum, who was shot in an apartment complex parking lot in the 2400 block of Laurelwood Drive on January 13, 2025 and later died at the hospital.
Following a thorough investigation, APD Homicide detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of 17-year-old Joshua Robinson on one count of Murder. On March 11, 2025, members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force located Mr. Robinson in Fort Worth and took him into custody without incident.
Through the course of their investigation, detectives learned Mr. Selby-Mukum used a social media app to sell firearms and had arranged to meet with a potential buyer that evening to sell a handgun. The buyer was later identified as Mr. Robinson.
Surveillance cameras near the crime scene captured Mr. Selby-Mukum approaching a Nissan Altima that entered the apartment complex and pulled into a parking spot. The driver of the Altima is seen exiting the vehicle a short time later and moving in the direction where Mr. Selby-Mukum was ultimately found shot and unresponsive on the ground. The driver then re-enters the Altima and quickly leaves the apartment complex.
Witnesses identified Mr. Robinson as the driver of the Altima. Phone records also showed that Mr. Robinson placed a call to Mr. Selby-Mukum just prior to the Altima entering the complex.
Detectives believe a dispute over the transaction may have led to the shooting.
