TxDOT: I-20 Lane Closures This Weekend for Southeast Connector

Want to stay in the know about the Texas Department of Transportation's Southeast Connector Project and how construction activity may affect your commute? Each Friday, the City of Arlington will share the latest information about the$2.1 billion project, which will rebuild and widen approximately 16 miles of I-20 from Forest Hill Drive to Little Road, I-820 from I-20 to Brentwood Stair Road, and US 287 from Bishop Street to Sublett Road. This project is expected to be complete by 2027.
When complete, the Southeast Connector Project will tie in the east and southeast part of Tarrant County to the central part of the county while relieving congestion, increasing safety and improving efficiency for the entire Metroplex.

Please note: Speed limits are now reduced to 55 mph within the entire corridor.
Special Note: Eastbound I-20 will be reduced to one lane and westbound I-20 reduced to two lanes from 9 p.m. Saturday, June 7 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 8 for construction activities, weather permitting. Bowman Springs Road over I-20 and the southbound I-820 ramp to eastbound I-20 will also be closed during this time.Alternate routes are advised.
Drivers should plan accordingly and add extra time to their commute. Drivers are reminded that the speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph throughout the Southeast Connector corridor. Drivers are encouraged to visit southeastconnector.com to stay up to date on all major upcoming operations along the project. Please note all construction work is dependent on weather conditions.

Eastbound I-20
- Eastbound I-20 reduced to one lane at Bowman Springs Rd. 24/7 on June 7-8
- Eastbound I-20 reduced to two lanes at Bowman Springs Rd. overnight June 8
- Highway Closure: Eastbound I-20 closed at I-820. overnight June 13
- Interchange Ramp Closure: Eastbound I-20 ramp to northbound I-820 closed overnight June 9-10
- Eastbound I-20 reduced to two lanes at Forest Hill Dr. overnight June 9-13.
I-820 Northbound
- Northbound I-820 reduced to one lane between Wilbarger St. and Berry St. overnight June 6
- Interchange Ramp Closure: Interchange Ramp Closure: Northbound I-820 ramp to northbound US 287 closed overnight June 6-7.
- Highway Closure: Northbound I-820 closed at Lancaster Avenue overnight June 9-10.
I-820 Southbound
- Interchange Ramp Closure: Southbound I-820 ramp to eastbound I-20 closed 24/7 on June 6-7.
- Ramp Closure: Southbound I-820 entrance ramp from Meadowbrook Dr. closed overnight June 7.
- Highway Closure: Southbound I-820 closed at Lancaster Avenue overnight June 9-10.
US 287 Southbound
- Highway Closure: Southbound US 287 closed at Little Road 24/7 on June 6-7.
