The City continues to invest in neighborhoods throughout The American Dream City, with the Arlington City Council approving $61,815 in new Neighborhood Matching Grants for four projects across the city.
The Neighborhood Matching Grant program was developed in 2007 to foster civic pride, enhance neighborhoods and encourage collaboration between residents and City government. The program aligns with the City Council priority to Champion Great Neighborhoods. The City has awarded $1,422,797 in grants to 142 projects since the program began.
For a project to be considered, it must be submitted by neighbors, serve a public purpose, have a detailed timeline and meet all City codes. Each neighborhood must also contribute 20% grant match towards the project through cash, in-kind donations and/or volunteer hours.
