Emergency Cold Weather Shelters

The City of Arlington will activate its Emergency Weather Shelter Plan on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025 and Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025.

In freezing temperatures, The Salvation Army serves as inclement weather shelters for homeless individuals in Arlington. The City of Arlington’s Homeless Emergency Cold Weather Shelter plan is activated on days when temperatures reach 39 degrees or below for four or more consecutive hours overnight.

Inclement Weather Shelters

The Salvation Army

  • 712 W. Abram St., Arlington TX 76013
  • Intake shall begin at 7 p.m. and go through 10 p.m.
  • IDs are required. Exceptions will be made for drop offs by the Arlington Police Department after hours.
  • Meals will be served

The Arlington Animal Services Shelter (accepts pets of homeless individuals as capacity allows). The shelter is located at 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd. The phone number is 817-459-5898.
