Here are a few ways you can enjoy your weekend in The American Dream City.

Arlington Pools & Splash Pads Open

Get ready for some fun in the sun! The City of Arlington’s Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center, Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center, Allen Bolden Outdoor Pool, Woodland West, & Howard Moore pools and its three free outdoor splash pads are open through Labor Day weekend in early September, while the smaller outdoor pools will close in August. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

The largest water park in North Texas is back open daily for the summer. Head over to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor or its website to purchase tickets and passes.

The Smurf Experience

This 13,000-square-foot, fully immersive attraction will transport families into the heart of Smurf Village. The experience will be held at the Arlington Museum of Art. The 75-minute experience will feature nine mission-based zones filled with interactive scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, virtual reality adventures, meet-and-greets with beloved Smurf characters and more. It's hands-on, high-energy and full of Smurftastic fun for kids and parents alike. The Smurf Experience is not to be missed and is only in Texas until the end of the Summer. “Beyond Borders: Contemporary Visions of Latin America”

Beyond Borders explores Latin America’s rich cultural heritage, modern identities, and global influence through a vibrant range of contemporary art. This curated exhibit includes works that span topics such as landscapes, iconic figures, current events, and soccer’s cultural significance—highlighting Latin America’s artistic voices in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Arlington set to host key matches. It takes place at Wellspring on Main and runs until Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025.

I’m Proud of You

It’s the last weekend to see I’m Proud of You at Theatre Arlington. Based on Tim Madigan’s book I’m Proud of You, My Friendship with Fred Rogers, this delightful new play chronicles male friendship at its finest and most powerful. You’re never too old to learn life lessons from television icon Mr. Rogers. Showtimes are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Learn more about tickets. Coffee with a Cop

Join members of the Arlington Police Department for an informal conversation over coffee 9-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at Salter Bros Coffee Roasters located at 400 E Division St #105 in Arlington.

Adrian Beltré Statue Dedication

A full-size bronze statue honoring Hall of Fame third baseman Adrian Beltré will be unveiled and dedicated outside Globe Life Field this Friday, August 22 at 2:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place outside the Comerica Bank Northeast Entrance Plaza of Globe Life Field, where the statue will be permanently located. The statue dedication ceremony will be open free of charge to the public. The Globe Life Field parking lots (parking passes and day of game sales) will open early on Friday at 2:00 p.m. for fans who wish to attend the ceremony.

Summer Music Series

Join Arlington Parks & Recreation for acoustic music and wine, whiskey and food specials each Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. from now through Sept. 12. Home Plate Restaurant is located inside the Texas Rangers Golf Club at 701 Brown Blvd. in north Arlington. While entry is free, guests are encouraged to RSVP.

Sizzle Social Community Girls Night

Sizzle Social: Community Girls' Night Out takes place Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at the ACTIV. Cowboys host Falcons 

Your hometown Cowboys host the Atlanta Falcons 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at AT&T Stadium in their third preseason game. Limited tickets are available now at SeatGeek.com.

Texas Rangers host the Cleveland Guardians  

Your hometown Rangers host the Cleveland Guardians for a three-game weekend set at Globe Life Field. First pitches are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, and 1:35 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025. View ticket information on the Rangers’ website.

Shows at Arlington Music Hall

The Arlington Music Hall has a shows you can enjoy starting 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, it’s The Classics IV, then 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, it’s SEGER SYSTEM – Ultimate Bob Seger Tribute, and rounding out the weekend 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025, it’s Santiago Cruz - Tour 2025 - Quince de Caminos - Dallas, TX.

Mileage Comp 

Dyno-Rock Indoor Climbing Center is hosting its first traverse event starting 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2025.  The Mileage Comp is a low stake, late night even with lots of climbing, pizza, and B.Y.O.B. Learn more about tickets.

Downtown Arlington Farmers Market

The Downtown Arlington Farmers Market runs every Saturday through November from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Front and Center Streets. The market will feature fresh, locally-source produce, unique artisan goods and community connection.

College 101

College 101 is an informative session designed to help students and parents begin preparing early for the college journey. The event takes place 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at the Northeast Branch’s Community Room. It provides clear guidance for ninth through twelfth graders, outlining key steps to take each year to stay on track. Silent Book Club

The book club with no assigned reading and no pressure! They meet once a month at local spots around Arlington & Grand Prairie to read, drink, and be in community with other bookworms.
