Fall in Love: City Offers Pet Adoption Specials Through October 2025

Adopt one, save many. Arlington Animal Services invites residents to join the rescue effect and bring home a shelter cat or dog this fall.

As part of the ASPCA's The Rescue Effect initiative, Arlington is offering pet adoption specials throughout September and October 2025. All pet adoptions are just $25 and include pet vaccinations, spay or neuter, heartworm testing for dogs, FIV/FELV testing for cats, a microchip and more. All VIP Pets at Arlington Animal Services will feature a $10 adoption fee. 

ASPCA's Rescue Effect is a national campaign aiming to bring awareness about the importance of pet adoption and fostering in an effort to place more animals into loving homes. So far in 2025, Arlington Animal Services has taken in 4,494 animals. The City's shelter has remained full, especially with dogs, like most shelters across Tarrant County. When you adopt, you bring home a loving new friend, and another animal gets the space and care in the shelter they need until finding their home. It’s a ripple effect of when you help one, you actually help many.

"Arlington Animal Services is excited to collaborate with the ASPCA because when we work together, we save more lives. We are hoping to engage more adopters and reduce the time animals spend waiting for their loving homes," Animal Services Manager Ashley Woolnough said.

Arlington Animal Services has a variety of pets looking for forever homes. Pets of all sizes, ages and wonderful personalities are waiting on their second chance. 

Cat adoption fees are typically $90 and dog adoption fees are $100. All adoption fees, even for the $25 pet adoption special, include pet vaccinations, spaying or neutering, a microchip, a city license for Arlington residents, and heartworm testing for dogs or FIV/FELV testing for cats.
