The Arlington Police Department has several recommendations for fans attending Cowboys home games at AT&T Stadium this upcoming season:
Traffic Management
As it does for other major Entertainment District venue events, the City of Arlington will activate its Traffic Management Center and implement a strategic traffic management plan for both Gold Cup games at AT&T Stadium. The City’s goal is to help tens of thousands of visitors arrive at and leave the event venues as quickly and efficiently as possible while reducing impacts to non-event traffic in the area. Measures will include adjusting traffic signal timing on Collins, Division and Center streets and Randol Mill Road, which are the four main routes to AT&T Stadium, to give priority to traffic heading to the venue before the event or from the venue after the event. Arlington Public Works will also activate the reversible lanes on Collins and Division streets to create additional lanes to help with traffic flow before and after games. This includes temporarily opening AT&T Way between Cowboys Way and Division Street to southbound traffic only, providing five total lanes to move vehicles away from the stadium. Public Works will also coordinate with the Arlington Police Department to assist with pedestrian safety at intersections near the stadium. Visitors are encouraged to use Waze to navigate traffic closures and detours.
Parking
The City’s special events parking restrictions will be in effect on these game dates. That means any vehicles parked in a designated No Parking Zone, which is primarily going to be the neighborhood streets around AT&T Stadium, will be towed. All the No Parking Zones will be marked with signs. Click here to view a map of these zones.
Fans should seek parking in designated paid lots located throughout the Entertainment District.
Rideshare
For fans using rideshare services like Uber, Lyft, or Arlington On-Demand, the designated drop-off and pickup location for AT&T Stadium is Lot 15. This lot is located just west of the stadium along Randol Mill Road.
To help maintain traffic flow and for everyone’s safety, all rideshare customers should use that location. The Arlington Police Department will conduct enforcement during game days and issue citations to drivers who attempt to pick up or drop off passengers in unauthorized zones around the stadium. This is to prevent cars from making frequent stops along busy roadways in the Entertainment District and holding up traffic behind them. Additionally, it’s unsafe for passengers to run across lanes of traffic while getting in or out of a vehicle.
It’s also important to remember that demand for rideshare vehicles typically surges immediately after an event. Fans using rideshare services to get home should expect a wait for a vehicle. Additional officers are posted at the Lot 15 pickup location to help ensure the safety of those waiting for rides. Fans who attempt to call for a rideshare driver from an unauthorized location may find that their driver is unable to get to them due to lane closures and other traffic measures that are in place following events that are designed to safely and efficiently guide traffic out of the Entertainment District.
Fans should NEVER accept a ride from a driver they did not request or who tries to solicit them. Only get into a vehicle once you have confirmed via your rideshare app that the vehicle is being driven by a legitimate rideshare driver.
Entering the Stadium
When walking between parking lots and the stadium, fans should always use designated crossings and crosswalks. Police officers will be posted at all major intersections & crosswalks in the Entertainment District and will help pedestrians get safely across the road.
Fans are encouraged to review AT&T Stadium’s bag policy to learn what items they can and cannot bring into the stadium. Anyone who attempts to bring prohibited items through the security checkpoint be not be allowed through until they return the item(s) to their vehicle or place them in a rental locker outside the stadium.
Fans should also check their tickets before they go through the security checkpoint to see which entrance they should use for the quickest access to their seats (this information is displayed on the ticket). As a reminder, there are additional ticket checkpoints inside the stadium on both sides of the main (200) level that only guests with Club Seats will be able to pass through. If you enter the stadium on the wrong side, you will have to go up to the 400 level to get around to the other side.
Other Items
- Scalping is not permitted in the Entertainment District. Please do not buy tickets from anyone who approaches you as you enter the stadium. As a reminder, all AT&T Stadium tickets are now digital. If someone tries to sell you paper tickets, there’s a good chance they are fake.
- You should only purchase tickets directly from the venue or from a reputable ticketing site that guarantees their authenticity. Avoid buying tickets via social media marketplaces, social media apps, or unsolicited direct messages which don’t have the consumer protections in place that reputable sites do. Remember – if a deal on tickets sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
- Unruly fans or fans who get into fights may be removed and criminally trespassed from the stadium.
- Don’t drink and drive. Arlington PD officers will be out looking for DWI drivers.
