With the weather warming up and the school year winding down, we’ve got fun activities planned for all ages! Mark your calendar for these upcoming May events with Arlington Parks and Recreation.
Mother’s Day Tea (50+ yrs) – Friday, May 9
Whether you are a mom or have a mom, celebrate this Mother’s Day at ACTIV with a special Mother’s Day Tea on May 9! Join us in the Post Oak Hall at noon where we will enjoy mini manicures, snacks, and conversation. This event is for ages 50+ and admission is $2 per person. Please call 817-575-3400 to register.
Cliff Nature Night: Geocaching – Friday, May 9
Join us on May 9 for an evening in nature at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center to learn about high-tech scavenger hunting, also known as geocaching! This free event from 6-8 PM is geared towards kids ages 5-12 and is family-friendly. Gather the whole family and put your scavenger hunting skills to the test!

Yappy Hour Dog Social – Saturday, May 10
UPDATE: The Yappy Hour Dog Social has been canceled due to flooding.
Don’t miss this paw-sitively fun Yappy Hour Dog Social on May 10! We will have dog costume contests, live music, drinks, vendors, and more at Rush Creek Dog Park from 12-3 PM. This award-winning event will be a tail-wagging good time for humans and their fur babies! Leashed dogs are welcome with fenced, off-leash areas available. Seating is limited; bring lawn chairs or blankets.
ACTIV Garden Club Intro (50+ yrs) – Tuesday, May 27
Whether you have a green thumb or are just getting started, this is the perfect place to dig in, grow together, and bloom as a community. The ACTIV Garden Club is all about sharing knowledge, enjoying the beauty of nature, and cultivating friendships, one plant at a time. Join us on May 27 at 9:15 AM as we explore gardening tips, swap stories (and maybe even seeds!), and make our corner of the world a little greener! Free to attend.
East Family Fun Night – Friday, May 30
Every other week this summer, East Recreation Center will host Family Fun Nights, where parents and campers come together for a FREE evening of excitement! Jump into the action with P.E. games, friendly competitions, and memory-making moments at this summer’s first session on May 30. It’s the perfect way for families to stay active, bond, and experience the fun of summer camp firsthand! This is an all ages event from 5-6:30 PM.
