The Arlington Police Department has published its 2024 Annual Report which provides a comprehensive look at the department's achievements, new initiatives, and crime statistics during the 2024 calendar year. It also highlights different units within the department to give community members a better understanding of how their police department works.

Highlights of the report include:

  • In 2024, overall crime was down five percent from the previous year, including a one percent drop in Crimes Against Persons (assault, human trafficking, homicide, and sex offenses).

  • The department expanded its Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) which uses technology like license plate reading cameras to provide officers and detectives in the field with real time intelligence that helps them solve crimes and apprehend criminals. RTCC detectives were instrumental in solving multiple murders, robberies, and other violent crimes in 2024.

  • Led by the APD Event Management Unit, the City of Arlington successfully hosted the 2024 MLB All-Star Week, one of the largest and most ambitious events that has ever come to the American Dream City. The week-long event generated an estimated $86 million for the local economy. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred personally thanked Arlington for "rising to the occasion to make this undertaking a great success."

"I am excited for the future we are shaping," said Chief of Police Al Jones. "As we move forward, our focus remains on collaboration, innovation, and creating lasting, positive change within our community. We remain dedicated to adapting, learning, and continuously improving our practices to meet the evolving needs of the City of Arlington."
