The Public Works Department’s Stormwater Management Division would like to invite our schools and local educators to participate in the Stormtalker Education Program.

The StormTalker program is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of stormwater pollution and its effects on water quality, local ecosystems, and flooding. Presentation topics include stormwater pollution and prevention, watersheds and natural floodplain functions, storm drainage systems and local water quality, flood safety and awareness, and native pollinator and aquatic life habitat protection. These programs provide support for TEKS biology and social studies standards with a heavy emphasis on vocabulary and natural ecosystem concepts.

The program offers the following presentations:

  • All the Way to the Ocean
  • Journey Through the Storm Drain
  • Bugs Don’t Bother Me!
  • We All Live in a Watershed
  • Be Flood Prepared!
  • Arlington's Native Bees and Other Pollinators
