Arlington Honored with State Best 13 Awards at 2024 TAMIO Conference

The City of Arlington was honored to receive a state best 13 overall awards, including 5 first-place awards, at the annual Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) conference in San Antonio on Jun 6, 2024.

This year follows up a strong campaign in 2023, where the Office of Communication took home eight awards at the TAMIO conference in Arlington. The TAMIO Awards featured more than 675 entries from cities across the state.

The awards recognize outstanding communication by Texas communities in a variety of categories including website, social media, video production and publications. Judging is conducted by non-TAMIO members with expertise in communications and municipal government.

Arlington was presented with the following awards:

• Budget Bites FY24 Budget Video – Educational PSA
• Carts with Carter – Marketing PSA
• Taylor Swift (Arlington’s Version) – Best Social Media Campaign – Planned 
• Let’s Get Rolling – Best Marketing Plan or Campaign 
• Taylor Swift – Best Media Relations

Award of Excellence (2nd Place)

• Arlington American Dream Chapters – Regular/Recurring Programming
• Taylor Swift Way – Most Creative with Least Dollars Spent
• Taylor Swift Way – Best Use of a Promotional Item
• Budget Bites en Espanol – DE&I Outreach/Campaign

Award of Honor (3rd Place)

• Unity Council Report – Special Publication
• “Remembering the Dream” – Special One-Time Program 
• Texas Rangers’ World Series Run – Best Social Media Campaign – Unplanned
• World Series Photography – Best use of Photography
