2024 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Closings & Service Schedules

Many City of Arlington municipal offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024, in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

Residential garbage and recycling collection will occur as scheduled on Monday, January 15, 2024. Regular office hours and service schedules will resume Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

The Arlington Martin Luther King Jr. “Advancing the Dream” Four-Day Celebration will be held January 12-15, 2024.

What’s Open

• The Beacon Recreation Center
• East Library and Recreation Center (library will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
• Elzie Odom Athletic Center
• Cliff Nelson Recreation Center
• Dottie Lynn Recreation Center
• Arlington Tennis Center
• Lake Arlington operations, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Meadowbrook Park Golf Course Pro Shop open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Course will be closed due to the weather.
• Texas Rangers Golf Club Pro Shop open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Course will be closed due to the weather. Home Plate Restaurant will be open regular hours.
• Lake Arlington Golf Course Pro Shop open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Course will be closed due to the weather.
• Tierra Verde Golf Club Pro Shop open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Course will be closed due to the weather. Ventana Grille Restaurant will be open regular hours.

• All Arlington Public Library branches, except The East, which will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Handitran office and Handitran special transportation services
• Arlington Animal Services Center (Opens at 10 a.m. on Tuesday)
• Parks and Recreation Department administrative offices
• Meadowbrook Recreation Center
• Bob Duncan Center
• Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau
• Arlington Housing Authority
• Water Utilities South Service Center

Holiday Garbage and Recycling Schedule:
Garbage and recycling will not be picked up New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.
