Fatality Crash - Report #2023-01760241

On Sunday, June 25, 2023, at approximately 11:25 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to the 6700 block of New York Avenue to investigate a wreck involving a pickup truck and an electric bicycle.

When officers arrived on scene, the cyclist, an 89-year-old man, was lying unresponsive in the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased from his injuries.

Investigators determined the cyclist entered the roadway and was traveling from east to west across it when he collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche that was traveling southbound along New York Avenue.

The driver of the Avalanche immediately stopped and called 911. No charges have been filed in the case. The investigation is ongoing.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
