End Summer with Fun at Arlington Parks' August Events!

Summer is winding down, but the fun isn’t over just yet! Mark your calendar for these upcoming August events with Arlington Parks and Recreation.

Friday Night Skate – Every Friday

Friday Night Skate is back all summer with four dates in August! Join us at Elzie Odom Athletic Center for skating fun from 7-10 PM. You will have a blast skating with your friends, playing games, and participating in skating activities throughout the evening! The cost is $15 per child with the option to add on two slices of pizza and a 12 oz drink for an additional $5. Pre-registration is required.

Sensory Swim – Saturday, August 5

Children with special needs, their caregivers, and families are invited to enjoy a supervised Sensory Swim on Saturday, August 5 at Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center from 9-11 AM! Registration is free for season pass holders and/or $5 per person. Each individual must register for this all-ages event. Season pass holders will be able to use their 2023 season pass number as a coupon code.

Beacon’s End of Summer Celebration – Friday, August 11

Come out to celebrate the end of summer right with the Parks and Recreation team at the Beacon on August 11 from 6-10 PM! This free event will feature music, a kids art workshop, local vendors, food trucks, lawn games, splash pad fun and more! Teachers, please make sure to bring your ID for a little appreciation from us! No registration required.

National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame Day Trip – Tuesday, August 22

Tour the museum dedicated to honoring women of the American West who have displayed extraordinary courage and pioneer spirit in their trailblazing efforts! We will travel together to Fort Worth to enjoy the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame on this adult day trip departing from Bob Duncan Center. The cost is $25 per person and lunch is separate.

Pat’s Pop Up Art Class (50+ yrs) – Tuesday, August 29

Seniors, join us at Dottie Lynn Recreation Center for Pat's Pop Up Art Class on Tuesday, August 29 - no experience necessary! Bring nothing more than yourself and your creativity and leave with a completed work of art. Pre-registration is required for all participants, and all art materials will be provided.
