The tailgate is a traditional part of the American sporting experience. The music, along with the drinks and the aroma of grilled food. On this episode of Arlington Eats, our host Cynthia Lemus went to AT&T Stadium for the 2023 Gold Cup Quarterfinals doubleheader to find out what the fans are cooking before the game.

At the stadium we meet Martin and his family who arrived very early to grab the best spot in the parking lot to get their grills out.

“We have fajitas, chicken, beef, we are going to make tacos, we have salsa, guacamole, pico de gallo and all that stuff” Martin said.

Martin and his family's grill had something different.

“We call it cabrito. It’s from Monterrey Nuevo Leon. They usually cook it over there and its good.”

Every time the Mexican National Soccer team play in Texas, they traveled to the stadium to watch the game.

“We have been doing it for a long time and it’s always good to have our national team here, it’s a great opportunity to get together with my family and friends and have a celebration.”

Tailgating is allowed before almost all sporting events at AT&T Stadium, gates usually open one or two hours prior the games but you are allowed to enter the parking lot couple of hours before.
