Arlington City Council Calls for 2023 Bond Election
Arlington residents will vote this May on a proposed $278 million, five-year bond program that would provide funding for streets and sidewalks, a new public aquatic facility, a fire station and a police substation, and other public facilities. After months of public input, the Arlington City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved placing the bond program on the May 2023 ballot.
Winter Storm Debris Clean Up
There were several power outages due to the ice and last week’s winter storm. Oncor crews, working to restore power outages as quickly as possible, removed trees and tree limbs that had fallen onto power lines.
Oncor is not responsible for hauling away trees or limbs that have fallen onto private property because of storms. It is the property owner’s responsibility to dispose of the fallen tree or limbs. As a reminder, tree limbs can be placed on the curb for pickup by Republic Services if they are cut down to four-foot lengths, bundled and stacked with the large end towards the curb. Branches must be no more than six inches in diameter and bundles may not exceed 50 lbs. Brush is collected at approximately one cubic yard per collection date.
