On Saturday, February 25, 2023, at approximately 8:25 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to the 4900 block of S. Cooper Street to investigate a wreck involving a motorcycle and a car.
When officers arrived, they located a 23-year-old man lying unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators believe the man was riding a motorcycle, traveling northbound along Cooper Street, when he struck a 2002 Lexus IS that was attempting to turn left from the southbound lanes into the parking lot of a business. The impact caused the man to be thrown from the motorcycle.
Witnesses told officers the man was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
Two people inside the Lexus were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
