On Sunday, August 27, 2023, at approximately 5:15 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a hit and run crash in the 3600 block of S SH 360.
Investigators believe a 2012 Toyota Yaris was stalled in the outside lane facing southbound when a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado struck the Toyota causing the driver to be ejected. The 33 year-old driver of the Toyota was pronounced deceased on scene.
The Chevrolet left the crash location without stopping. An out of agency, off-duty police officer followed the Chevrolet. Mansfield PD was able to stop the vehicle and contact the driver.
Arlington PD arrested the driver of the Chevrolet and charged him with Intoxication Manslaughter and Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
