Fatality Crash - Report #2023-02270209

On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at approximately 9:40 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a single vehicle accident in the 500 block of Southmoor Drive, involving a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer that rolled over onto its side.

The preliminary investigation indicated the driver was travelling eastbound when he veered off the roadway and struck a tree in the front yard of a home, causing the vehicle to flip over. The victim was not wearing his seat belt.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A family member arrived on scene and provided information to officers that the accident may have been medically related.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
