On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the Arlington Police Department was notified by hospital staff that a 25-year-old man has passed away from injuries he received in a vehicle crash that occurred last month. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as Jase Lyle.

On April 26, 2022, at approximately 3:25 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 7800 block of S. Cooper Street. Lyle, the driver of a 2014 Nissan Juke, was attempting to make a U-turn into the northbound lanes of S. Cooper Street when he collided with a 2011 Dodge Charger that was already traveling northbound.

Lyle and a 25-year-old male passenger in the Juke were both transported to area hospitals. The passenger remains hospitalized.

A 16-year-old female passenger in the Charger was also transported to the hospital. Her injuries were non-life threatening and she has since been released. The four additional occupants of the Charger did not require hospitalization.

Investigators determined Lyle made the U-Turn when it was not safe for him to do so and this caused the crash. The driver of Charger is not facing any criminal charges.
