An Arlington Water Utilities project will begin in late March to replace aged sanitary sewer and water mains along North Oak Street, between West Randol Mill Road and West Cedar Street.

A public meeting to inform the community about the project is scheduled for Thursday, March 17 at 6 p.m. on the 3rd floor of Arlington City Hall, 101 W. Abram St.

Other details of the project include:

  • 2,102 linear feet of 8-inch water mains, and 2,068 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer main will be replaced along North Oak Street.
  • 7,155 square yards of asphalt pavement are set to be reconstructed after the water and sanitary sewer improvements are complete.

The project is expected to be completed in September. The improvements will replace aging infrastructure with a history of water main breaks, reduce maintenance costs, and improve service to the area.

The Arlington City Council approved an Arlington Water Utilities contract for the project with Gra-Tex Utilities, Inc. earlier this month.
