Arlington-based, Lucretia Council Cochran Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is calling on Arlington residents to help donate and volunteer in their numerous charitable initiatives to help support the community, including a community classroom school supply drive, book donations to promote literacy, supplies for veteran’s gift bags and more.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education. DAR members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, but all share a common bond of having an ancestor who helped contribute to securing the independence of the United States of America.

DAR member Linda Finley said, “We are not a generation "waiting on the world to change."  We are making a difference every day by sharing a common belief in the perpetuation of the NSDAR motto, God, Home and Country.”
