Arlington Closes Public Facilities on Feb. 24 Due to Winter Weather

Editor's Note: Due to ongoing winter weather related safety concerns, City of Arlington facilities originally scheduled to open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, will now remain closed for the day.
The City of Arlington has closed public facilities and suspended some services Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, due to the hazardous driving conditions. This action is being taken to ensure safety for residents and city employees with potential traffic hazards because of winter weather.
Via, Arlington’s on-demand rideshare public transportation service and Handitran have suspended service Thursday due to the hazardous driving conditions. Residential garbage/recycling curbside collection services for Thursday are also suspended, and the landfill is closed. Residents will receive garbage and recycling pick up services on their next regularly scheduled collection day.
All essential city services will be operational Thursday, including public safety, 9-1-1 emergency call center, street and water crews. This also includes the Action Center, the City’s information hotline that can be reached by dialing 817-459-6777.
