Residents Can Report Illegal Fireworks Activity Through City of Arlington Webpage

As the New Year’s holiday weekend approaches, we are reminding our residents and visitors that it is illegal to use fireworks in the City of Arlington. People who are caught using fireworks illegally may face a fine up to $2,000.

Residents may use this online reporting tool starting at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2022. Residents may also call the Arlington Fire Department’s non-emergency phone line at 817-274-4444 to report fireworks activity.

Now that holiday festivities are over, Arlington residents and businesses are encouraged to recycle their real Christmas trees. Before you drop off your tree, please remove lights, ornaments and tree stands, including wooden stands and nails. Do not place the tree in a plastic bag. There are two free drop-off locations available between Dec. 27, 2022, and Jan. 12, 2023:

Arlington Landfill

800 Mosier Valley Road

7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Monday through Saturday, weather permitting

Calloway's Nursery

4940 S. Cooper Street

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

Arlington's Leaf Recycling Program Runs Through Jan. 16, 2023

Take advantage of the annual free leaf recycling program through Jan. 16. Help reduce landfill waste by collecting and bagging your leaves. Residents may be seeing bagged leaves sitting at the curb waiting for collection a bit longer than usual this year but please note that the City’s contractor, Republic Services, is working tirelessly to get all residential trash collected as quickly as possible. Residential trash collection delays have been typical around this time of the year, mostly due to the high volume of bagged leaves and household trash generated during the holiday season. And since COVID, the volume of household trash has increased while labor shortages continue to impact Republic Services. To minimize potential delays to the collection of regular trash, Republic Services crews will be collecting approximately one cubic yard of bagged leaves per collection day. Crews are picking up as many bags as they can, but possibly not as many as they were able to in years past, to avoid running behind.

All of the collected leaves will be mulched, and will be free to Arlington residents in the spring (based on availability).
