The Arlington Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a double homicide that occurred on January 7, 2022 at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Cypress Club Drive.

Detectives recently obtained an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Julius Rollins on one count of Capital Murder. On April 26, 2022, members of the APD Fugitive Unit located him in Arlington and took him into custody without incident.

Investigators believe he shot and killed two family members, 21-year-old Martell Brown and 31-year-old Jy’Tavious Fields, in the parking lot outside the apartment where Rollins lived. Although a motive remains unclear, evidence collected during the course of the investigation linked Rollins to the shooting.

“We cannot and will not tolerate this kind of violence in our city,” said Chief of Police Al Jones. “I appreciate the tremendous amount of time and effort our homicide detectives put into working this case. It’s because of their tenacity that we were able to make this arrest.”

Mr. Rollins is currently being held at the Tarrant County Jail.
