Arlington Water Utilities will host a public meeting about the City of Arlington’s Shadow Drive Sanitary Sewer Main Replacement Project. City engineers and consultants working on the project will be available to answer questions and provide more information.
The City of Arlington plans to abandon approximately 2,800 feet of deteriorating 21-inch sanitary sewer main near West Shadow Drive and Northeast Green Oaks Boulevard due to erosion risks near the West Fork Trinity River. To redirect sewer flow away from the river, a new lift station with 2–3 pumps will be built, along with about 6,000 feet of 12-inch force main and 450 feet of 21-inch gravity main, mostly within city right-of-way to limit impact to trees. The $10 million project will be funded through a low-interest loan from the Texas Water Development Board.
