Prescription Drug Collection Day

Next date: Saturday, October 25, 2025 | 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM

Drug Take Back event

The Arlington Police Department is hosting a prescription drug collection event at four collection sites in coordination with the US DEA’s National Drug Take Back Day. Residents can participate in an anonymous, safe disposal. By properly and safely disposing your expired and unused medications, you can help prevent accidental overdoses. The Drug Take Back event also helps Arlington Water Utilities protect Arlington’s water supply by encouraging proper drug disposal.

Collection sites are:

  • North - Ott Cribbs Public Safety Center: 620 W. Division St.
  • East - Medical City Arlington: 3301 Matlock Road (Lot A)
  • South - Dr. Theron L. Bowman South Police Service Center: 1030 SW Green Oaks Blvd.
  • West - Walgreens: 4400 W. Green Oaks Blvd.

  • All participants must retain possession of their own medication during the surrender process.

Naloxone and Prescription Medication Lock Boxes

Health Services will be on site at the Ott Cribbs Public Safety Center on Oct. 25 to provide two free doses of naloxone to residents as requested. Naloxone is an over-the-counter medicine that rapidly reverses the effects of an opioid overdose. Residents visiting the Ott Cribbs Public Safety Center police station during the Drug Take Back event can also register for a chance to win one of two free prescription drug lock boxes donated to the City of Arlington by Cook Children’s in an effort to prevent children from accessing prescription medications. Those who request naloxone or who enter the raffle do not have to drop off expired or unwanted prescription medications to participate.
