Revisiting Arlington’s Historic Hill Community

Historical photo from The Hill, which was a five-block area in Arlington that was designated for the city's African American residents when racially segregated neighborhoods were the norm.

The Fielder Museum invites the community to revisit Arlington’s historic Hill Community and explore the stories, people, and places that shaped this important part of the city’s past.

Through engaging interpretation and historical insight, visitors will learn about The Hill Community’s cultural significance and its lasting impact on Arlington’s history. This program features a special showing of the documentary Echoes from The Hill, the history of Arlington’s early black community.
