Step back in time at Knapp Heritage Park for a special First Thursday evening of music, heritage, and local history in celebration of the City of Arlington’s 150th Birthday!

Join Downtown Arlington and the Arlington Historical Society for a relaxed evening under the shaded oak trees at Knapp Heritage Park. Tour original 19th-century log cabins, enjoy live acoustic music, and learn about the origins of our community.

As a special highlight for September First Thursday, the Arlington Historical Society is offering guided Arlington History Walking Tours led by local historians, Jason Sullivan.

Event Highlights:

  • Historic Cabin Open House: Explore authentic historic cabins and schoolhouses preserved right in the heart of Downtown Arlington.
  • Live Music Under the Oaks: Bring a lawn chair or blanket and relax to live music throughout the evening.
  • Guided History Walking Tours: Take a 30-minute guided stroll through downtown history, starting and ending at Knapp Heritage Park (Limited spots available—reserve your tour ticket).

Schedule of Events:

  • 5:00 p.m.: Park Gates Open, Cabin Tours & Live Music Begin
  • 6:00–6:30 p.m.: History Walking Tour #1 (Departs from the main entrance)
  • 7:00–7:30 p.m.: History Walking Tour #2 (Departs from the main entrance)
  • 8:00 p.m.: Event Concludes
