This project focused on flood mitigation to reduce structural flooding as well as improvements to the existing drainage system in the neighborhood. This project was proposed due to reported flooding due to inadequate drainage infrastructure in the neighborhood. Additionally, the outfall to Lake Arlington has failed several times. The current outfall pipe will be abandoned, and a new outfall will be constructed on City owned property.
The proposed improvements consist of storm drains installation, sanitary sewer with some pavement maintenance as well as driveway replacement. The limits of this project cross both E. Marquis Circle and W. Marquis Circle and continue to Lake Arlington.
Project Update Coming Soon.
A public meeting to learn more about this project was held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Arlington Police Department - West District Center, located at 2060 West Green Oaks Boulevard, Arlington, TX 76013. There was a short presentation followed by a question and answer session.
The existing drainage system for this location is inadequate and has caused home flooding. Additionally, the outfall to Lake Arlington is failing and needs to be abandoned and rerouted to a new location. The proposed improvements will help capture more stormwater runoff within the City's right-of-way, decrease flooding risks for homes in the area, and replaced the current aging drainage system.
For this project, the contractor will provide as much access to your street as possible, however at times it may be necessary to temporarily limit access along either East or West Marquis Circle (not at the same time). The contractor will also notify you if your driveway needs to be reconstructed. This process involves limited access to driveways that will be coordinated with affected home owners. If emergencies arise, the contractor will work with you to the best of their abilities to grant you access.
