  • Project scheduleConstruction began April 13, 2026
  • Contractor nameMcMahon Contracting
  • Completion DateJuly 07, 2027

The project involves widening Mansfield Webb Road between Silo Road and South Collins Street to improve mobility, increase capacity, and reduce congestion on this key east-west corridor.

Key improvements include: Widening Mansfield Webb Road from a 2-lane undivided asphalt roadway to a 4-lane undivided concrete roadway (2 lanes in each direction), with curb and gutter. New sidewalks along the north side and a hike and bike trail along the south side for improved pedestrian safety and mobility. New streetlights for enhanced visibility and safety, along with landscaping and irrigation in sections of the parkway. Traffic signal improvements, including a new signal at the Webb Ferrell Road intersection, and updated traffic signs and pavement markings for smoother traffic flow. Storm sewer system installation to improve drainage. Water line improvements to support infrastructure needs.

These upgrades will match the requirements in the City of Arlington’s 2020 Thoroughfare Development Plan, ensuring that Mansfield Webb Road meets the current and future needs of the community.

Project Updates

Mansfield Webb Road will be closed to through traffic between Silo Road and South Collins Street from June 11 through June 25, 2026.

This closure is necessary to allow the contractor to safely remove the existing storm drain culvert near the northwest corner of Webb Community Park and install a new storm drain culvert and an 8-inch sanitary sewer line to accommodate planned roadway widening improvements.

Following the closure, Mansfield Webb Road will reopen to traffic; however, the roadway will be converted to a one-lane, one-way traffic operation through the construction area while work continues. Traffic will be permitted to travel westbound only, from South Collins Street toward Silo Road.

During the full closure of Mansfield Webb Road, Roaring Springs Road will also be closed between Mansfield Webb Road and a point just south of Stamford Avenue to discourage cut-through traffic in the neighborhood while still allowing access to the mailboxes. This neighborhood closure will be removed once Mansfield Webb Road reopens to one-way traffic.

Access to local businesses and residences within the project area, including The Beacon, will remain available throughout the construction period. Motorists should follow the posted detour signs and use Ballweg Road as the designated detour route.
