Project Updates

Consultant design services began in January 2025 and are projected to be complete by October 2025.

The following milestones have been completed:

A public online survey was sent out in early February 2025. Survey results were used to create (2) Concept Development designs.
A public Open House was held on March 20, 2025, at Dottie Lynn Recreation Center. Those that did not complete the online survey had the option to do so in person, selecting their preferred amenities. The (2) Concept Development designs were also presented for viewing/comments.
In the month of May the Parks and Kimley-Horn staffs decided on a final Conceptual Plan layout of the aquatic facility.

Kimley-Horn will produce construction documents in preparation for publicly bidding the project for construction beginning in November 2025.

A construction contract is anticipated to be awarded in January 2026, with construction starting in February 2026 and completing for opening in May 2027.
