Helen Wessler Park is a 5.1-acre park located in East Arlington at the intersection of Carter Drive and Roberts Circle. The City of Arlington and AISD swapped sites (previous park site and Roark Elementary) in 2023. Site amenities may include a loop walking trail, interactive and inclusive playground area, shade structures, fitness stations, landscaping, irrigation, splashpad and restrooms.

Project Updates

Consultant design services with Parkhill began in July 2023 and are projected to be complete by the end of 2025.

The following milestones have been completed:

• Parkhill (design consultant) completed (2) conceptual master plans of the park in November 2023.
• A public meeting was held in November 2023 to present the (2) conceptual master plans to the public for review/comments. Concept B was the overwhelming favorite.
• Parkhill completed construction documents in early 2025. The City plans to issue a Competitive Sealed Bid Proposal for construction of the park in summer 2025.
