Project Updates

Consultant design services with Elements of Architecture began in January 2025 and are projected to be complete by October 2025.

The following milestones have been completed:

• Elements of Architecture has begun the fact gathering mission of reviewing as-built documents of the original building construction as well as any previous renovations. They are also reviewing existing conditions and structural analysis.

Upcoming milestones:

• An online survey will be issued for public input of desired center renovations
• Elements will produce a conceptual plan from the public input survey results
• Parks staff will determine the most effective renovations from the conceptual plan
• From the conceptual plan Elements of Architecture will produce a final schematic design and then construction documents in preparation for publicly bidding the project for construction beginning in November 2025

A construction contract is anticipated to be awarded in January 2026, with construction starting in February 2026 and completing for opening in May 2027.
