Learn About Bowman Springs Road Improvements at May 3 Public Meeting

The Public Works Department is pleased to announce that work to transform Bowman Springs Road between Interstate 20 and Enchanted Bay Boulevard is scheduled to begin in June 2022.

This project, which is estimated to be completed in August 2023, includes the following improvements:

• Rebuilding the 2-lane asphalt roadway to a 3-lane concrete roadway
• Construction of sidewalks with ADA compliant pedestrian ramps
• Installation of hike and bike trail
• Installation of storm drainage infrastructure and new box culverts between Enchanted Bays Boulevard and Greenspring Drive
• Renewal of water and sanitary sewer infrastructure
• Installation of a roundabout with center landscaping at the intersection of Greenspring Drive and future Pleasant Ridge Road.

Residents interested in learning more about the project are invited to participate in a public meeting from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in the Community Room of the West Arlington Service Center located at 2060 W. Green Oaks Boulevard. There will be a short presentation followed by an opportunity to speak one-on-one with city staff.

This project, which is included in the City’s Thoroughfare Development Plan and approved by Arlington voters as part of the 2014 Bond Election, supports the City Council’s priorities to Enhance Regional Mobility and Champion Great Neighborhoods.
