The public is invited to attend a free film screening next month of the documentary, Age of Champions, followed by a panel discussion on issues related to health and aging.
The University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work is sponsoring the special event as part of Social Work Month. The film screening and panel discussion are scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the School of Social Work, Building A, Room 109.
Age of Champions is an award-winning and inspiring documentary following five older adults who sprint, leap and swim for gold at the National Senior Olympics.
Event attendees can learn about exercise, health and wellness later in life from the panel, which includes Clay Krames, a National Senior Olympics gold medal winner, Dr. Chris Ray, Associate Dean for Research at the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, Chelsea Couch, Exercise Program Coordinator for the Department of Disability and Aging Services, and Sydney Farrier, a licensed clinical social worker.
