February 2016 Volunteer of the Month: Michael Loesch

Michael Loesch is a volunteer with the Fire Department's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and is the Chairman of the Arlington Christian Disaster Network (ACDN).

With Mike as their leader, ACDN has received an honorable mention for Excellence in Volunteer Sustainability in the 2015 FEMA Individual Community Preparedness Awards in addition to Mayor Williams proclaiming December 2015 as ACDN Month for their efforts in preparing church members and the citizens of Arlington for disasters.

Mike recently responded to the tornado disaster in the City of Rowlett, leading a group of Arlington CERT trained volunteers to perform windshield damage assessments.

The City of Arlington leans on volunteers, like Mike, in order to support the citizens of the City of Arlington in time of need.

The Office of Emergency Management appreciates all of the hard work that Mike does to improve our preparedness in the City for disasters.
