Dream Builders is a show on MyArlingtonTV that highlights the ways our community is helping kids dream big, nurture their creativity, polish their skills and develop the tools they need to achieve their American Dream as young adults.

The latest Dream Builders episode focuses on the NFL Draft Community Ambassadors service project conducted by Lamar High School students at Sherrod Elementary School, located at 2626 Lincoln Dr, Arlington, TX 76006.

Former Cowboys great DeMarcus Ware, along with Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer Charlotte Jones Anderson were on hand Wednesday, April 25 as Lamar students worked to refurbish the courtyard at Sherrod Elementary School. The project includes painting, planting and deck replacement.

As part of the Cowboys NFL Draft community outreach programming, the six AISD high school football teams were challenged to execute a service project that impacts their campus, neighborhood or feeder community.

Student athletes had the opportunity to apply for grant funds provided by the NFL Foundation to complete their efforts. Projects created by the high school teams have included community beautification endeavors, courtyard refurbishments, elementary-focused reading initiatives and more.
