In the month of August, the YMCA of Arlington runs its annual membership promotion to help kids in need in the Arlington and Mansfield communities.

By purchasing a $20 YMCA backpack at any of the three YMCA of Arlington Family Centers, the organization will waive the joining fee, and new members are able take advantage of the Y's membership benefits, all while providing support to their neighbors. All backpacks will be given to Arlington ISD and Mansfield ISD at the end of the month for students starting school.

"From providing Before and After School childcare to giving backpacks to students in need, the Y wants to ensure that every child in Arlington and Mansfield has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive this school year," Roberto Aguirre, President and CEO of the YMCA of Arlington states. "Last year we gave out over 600 backpacks to AISD and MISD, and this August we're looking to surpass this number."

From advocacy to youth development to healthy living, the Y is committed to strengthening the community this school year.

By becoming a member of the YMCA of Arlington in August, potential members save $55 off the joining fee and can benefit from discounted before and after school care, free youth sports (additional supply of $19 may apply), discounted swim lessons, over 200 free group exercise classes, free KidZone (Child Watch) while you work out, access to all three YMCA of Arlington Family Centers and so much more.
