Editor's Note: Winners of Arlington's 2018 Animal Essay Contest will be notified on Feb. 2 and recognized by Arlington City Council on March 6.

The deadline for 2018 Animal Essay Contest entries is quickly approaching! Essay entries from third through sixth graders from Arlington, Mansfield, and Kennedale Independent School Districts, public, private, or home-schooled students residing in Arlington city limits must be received by 5 p.m. this Friday, January 12, 2018.

Entries may be hand-delivered between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to the following locations:

Each winner will receive a Kindle Fire HD compliments of Spring Creek Barbeque and the City of Arlington. Winners will also receive a $100 savings account compliments of EECU, Spring Creek Barbeque and the City of Arlington.
