One Arlington nonprofit is giving the gift of Christmas this holiday season. Beginning Saturday, Dec. 14, thousands of parents are expected to visit the Mission Arlington Christmas Store to shop for gifts for their loved ones at no charge.

The Christmas Store provides more than 35,000 toys to families each year. A generous community continues to donate much needed toys for children. While visiting the store, each person hears the wonder of the Christmas story.

The store is set up like many traditional "stores." Shelves and tables are used to hold the gifts and divide those gifts by age groups. It is staffed by churches, schools, families and individuals from the community.

Volunteer tasks include being a shopper helper, helping adults to find gifts for their kids, stockers, keeping toys and other gifts placed in the store, child care, providing a safe place for parents to leave their children when they shop - and so much more.

If you would like to be involved in Mission Arlington's Christmas Store, or to learn more about how to host your own, give Mission Arlington a call at 817-277-6620.

Mission of Arlington also plans to deliver hundreds of Christmas trees to help families celebrate this cherished holiday.

The Mission Arlington Christmas Store is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
