Police Chief Will D. Johnson announced a "Holiday Photo Caption" contest back in early November for evening shift officers. The contest rules were simple: Officers would need to look at a photograph and write a caption to accompany the picture. The photo included K9 Mojo standing between several boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and a would-be burglar running off with a television.

Chief Johnson's two daughters would then go through all of the submitted captions and choose a winner. The winner would get Christmas off while Chief Johnson would report to duty to work their shift.

The winning caption was submitted by East Patrol Officer Brandon Evans:

"No jelly in the donuts? Looks like it's burglar for lunch again."

Chief Johnson said, "My hope is that each and every one of my officers will accept this small gesture as my appreciation for what they do for both our community and the department each and every day."

Chief Johnson will report to duty at 2 p.m. on Christmas Day so that Officer Evans can enjoy the day at home with his family.
