Crews Work to Clear Arlington Roadways

The City of Arlington's Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the situation on city streets and weather conditions in the area. Here are some important details from a Monday morning report.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be cloudy, with a high temperature of 35 degrees today. North winds around 10-15 mph are expected. Temperatures should drop below freezing around 6:00 p.m. Monday night. Low will be 23 degrees. Be sure to drive carefully on Arlington Streets.

Arlington crews are standing by and ready to clear city streets to make them passable. TXDOT will be sanding/salting and using motor graders to break up ice on the following:

  • I-20 from Parker County line to Dallas County line
  • I-30 from Parker County line to Dallas County line
  • I-820
  • Once that is complete, TXDOT will focus on US and State highways
  • Once that is complete, TXDOT will then focus on FM Roads

The following schools will remain closed on Monday, December 9:

  • Arlington Independent School District (AISD)
    • AISD Capital Needs Steering Committee meeting cancelled
  • University of Texas at Arlington (UTA)
  • Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Mansfield Independent School District (MISD)

As for power outages in the Arlington, Oncor is reporting that power has been restored to those affected by the ice storm.

News
