Good news for movie lovers and families who are spring break staycationing on a budget: Levitt Pavilion Arlington is hosting a series of free outdoor movie screenings March 12-14, 2024.
The movie series pays tribute to three cinema family classics observing milestone anniversaries this year: Forrest Gump (March 12), which is celebrating a 30th anniversary; The Mummy (March 13); which turns 25 this year; and Up (March 14), which debuted 15 years ago.
All screenings begin at 7:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers, but please leave glass bottles at home. Concessions are also available for purchase, including Yaya’s Sweet Treets (for candy and drinks.) Well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome. Parking is free in any public parking lot, the UTA parking garage and other public parking spaces around Downtown. Click here for directions and parking.
Following the outdoor movie series, the next big event on the Levitt calendar is Total Eclipse of the Park, a free eclipse-watching party happening April 8 at 11 a.m., co-sponsored with the Arlington Parks & Recreation Department. The event will include music by DJ Rob, food trucks, and free eclipse glasses sponsored by the Parks department and Visit Arlington.
Levitt’s 2024 free concert series kicks off the weekend of April 26 with the return of DreamFest, a block-party styled festival with concerts headlined by Memphis Soul and the Tejas Brothers; both shows will also include talented and genre-diverse opening acts.
