The men and women of the Arlington Police Department do great things daily as they work to serve and protect the community.
But each year, there are employees and community partners who truly go above and beyond in their contributions to the department and to making Arlington a better place.
It's why the department hosts an Annual Awards Ceremony to celebrate their efforts.
The latest ceremony, which was held on Friday, February 17, recognized the outstanding and extraordinary work done during the 2022 calendar year.
More than 80 employees, volunteers, and community organizations were nominated for Annual Awards across 15 categories.
Recipients were honored for everything from disrupting a cryptocurrency exchange that was helping to finance a foreign terrorist organization, to helping low-income families get new, safe car seats for their kids, and taking action that led to the closure of a problem business that was operating illegally within the city.
The 2022 Annual Award Recipients are:

- Community Support Officer of the Year: Officer Jeff Lee
- Detective of the Year: Detective Casey Brashear
- Operations Officer of the Year: Officer Cody Adams
- Professional Employee of the Year - Administrative: Dacy Cantly
- Professional Employee of the Year - Exempt: MJ Giordano
- Professional Employee of the Year - Technical: Jeri Lyn Crocker
- Rookie of the Year: Officer Dexter Pruitt Jr
- East District Officer of the Year: Officer Vince Wyatt
- North District Officer of the Year: Officer Robert Bresser
- South District Officer of the Year: Officer Kyle West
- West District Officer of the Year: Officer Brian Allison
- Supervisor of the Year: Sergeant Traci Thai
- Overall Employee of the Year: Officer Trevor Clenney
“We truly have the best police department in the country – and I mean the best,” said Chief of Police Al Jones. “And it’s because of the outstanding public servants that work for this department. Celebrating the hard work, contributions, and service of these employees is the highlight of my year.”
NBC 5 Senior Meteorologist David Finfrock served as emcee for the event. The department would like to thank him, the Arlington Police Foundation, the Arlington ISD Center for Visual and Performing Arts, Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery, and the other organizations who helped make the ceremony possible.
